Medalisation Installation — insoles from soldiers' burial uniforms, copper sheet, old bells, Kovach serves in a Civil–Military Cooperation unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, working with the transportation of the bodies of the fallen, the notification of families in cases of death, captivity and the missing, and the communication that surrounds them. At the morgue he is given the insoles taken from the footwear of soldiers who have already been buried — the insoles are removed because a body cannot easily be shod. Each insole therefore stands for a single burial. Gathered into copper and the bronze of old bells, the insoles are turned into medals of a kind: an inverted decoration that counts not honours awarded but lives ended. The metal that once tolled for the dead now holds the trace of each of them, one by one.
